5 Wine and Cheese Pairings to Try at Your Next Party
Wine and Cheese. Two of the best things in the world if you ask me. But there are so many options of each. So how does one person know what wine compliments what cheese. Here are 5 options to get you started to make sure you impress all your friends at your next charcuterie party.
Prosecco & Brie
Brie has a super soft and creamy texture. The bubbles of Prosecco or Champagne cuts through the softness nicely and is very satisfying.
Cabernet Sauvignon & Aged Cheddar
When you have a big, bold cheese you need a wine that will not get lost in all the flavors. The tannins in a Cabernet pair beautifully with an aged cheddar. The two mixed together will work together instead of fighting against one another.
Rose & Havarti
Find a rose that is crisp and delicate. Then find a mellow and soft Havarti cheese. Those two combinations will work well together is a way to make sure the cheese does not overpower the wine.
Malbec & Gouda
Both Malbec and Gouda are flavorful and complex. Finding a cheese to lift the Malbec up can be challenging. However, the fullness of both options makes for the perfect pair.
Chenin Dulce & Chèvre
Chèvre just means Goat. Chenin Dulce is a sweet, white wine. The soft, creaminess of the goat cheese can stand up the Chenin Dulce’s bright and fruity profile. We decided on a blueberry Chèvre to bring a little blue color to the cheese plate.
